Resistance

Low resistance development

Resistance development to Tiamutin by M. gallisepticum is very slow [?] in comparison with tylosin as Tiamutin requires a multiple step mutation. (See chart below).
 

Another study [?] compared the rate of resistance development of Tiamutin with tylosin, oxytetracycline and enrofloxacin and again showed Tiamutin 3-5 times slower to develop resistance than the other antimicrobials (see table below).
