Pleuropneumonia caused by Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae (App) is a highly contagious, often fatal, acute respiratory disease of weaned, growing and fattening pigs. App may be a primary invader or secondary to other infections. A high mortality rate (30 - 50%) frequently occurs and the pronounced virulence of App is linked to the production of harmful toxins.
Denagard is active against App and should be used as ready to use injectable or water soluble for the treatment of acute cases. [?], [?]
