Enteric diseases in the growing/finishing period are serious causes of reduced productivity and sometimes deaths. Three of the most important non-viral infectious causes of enteric disease are:
- Ileitis caused by Lawsonia intracellularis (L.i.)
- Colitis caused by Brachyspira pilosicoli (B.p.) and
- Swine dysentery caused by Brachyspira
hyodysenteriae (B. hyo.).
